Age Gap Ex Letter

Dearest May-Decemberist,

Thank you for writing for me! I am looking forward to seeing whatever you create!

I consider all prompts as optional, but I added some ideas below in case you might find them helpful. Some are longer than others, but all are things I would love to receive! If none of my prompts work for you or you’d rather just work with a likes list, please feel free to use my general likes as something you can base your fic/art on, and ignore my prompts entirely.

In fact, feel free to just write something based on what you want as long as it doesn’t cross my DNW. I love everything from G-rated gen fic to E-rated full on smut-bangs, so feel free not to hold back on my account. If you are wondering if you can twist prompts/take them in different directions/etc. the answer is always an enthusiastic yes. Whether it be something sad, scary, fun, or just plain weird, as long as it avoids my DNW I am always down to play.

As far as age gaps go, I'm super into the dynamics of older character/younger character: my favorite things are an emphasis on physical contrast, differences in power dynamics, experiences, differences in sexual experiences, and just plain generational/cultural differences. I love it when the older character is more dominant/powerful, but I also love the reverse where the older character is a gleeful worshipper at the power of the younger one. I'm pretty easy going in general, and I just adore the dynamics of this sort of relationship and I'm thrilled we have an entire exchange dedicated to them!

Prompts:

Hadestown

Hades and Persephone dancing.

I love how much older Hades looks in this version than shePersephone; it's very clear throughout the musical that he considers himself a tired, old man and yet he absolutely loves this goddess who is the literal spirit of youth and vitality. I love how complicated their relationship is, how they're constantly in conflict but never not in love, even when they hurt one another badly. They're so very much opposites - young, old; hopeful, cynical - but they're also so very much in love with one another.

I'd love to see something of their origin story - how did they fall for one another? Does it bother either of them that they are such physical opposites? Does he have many anxieties about being older than her? How did she come to agree to go down to Hades(town) with him - she seems to constantly yearn for the surface, but she also doesn't seem unhappy with her husband (when times are good)? We know he can go up to the surface - does he ever go up to see her while she's doing springtime up there, either before or after Orpheus/Eurydice? Does she see his attempt to come to see her as a welcome diversion - or a frustrating distraction?

As far as smut for these two, I'd love to see Persephone get some body worship from Hades. He puts her through a lot in this musical, and he really needs to apologize. What better way than by reminding her every bit of what he loves about her? Or perhaps the reverse as well - he has a lot of doubts, but Persephone can probably help dispel them, and what better way than through love?

Greek and Roman Mythology

I love the poutiness of her expression; Helen of Troy by Frederick Sandys.

Hades/Persephone: I've always been fascinated with how big the age gap is between them; they really are of two different generations of Gods entirely. I know this story has a ton of different interpretations and I'm fine with virtually all of them, though I prefer all the characters to have at least some redeeming features even if they're the villain (eg if Demeter is overprotective of her daughter, it's not because of a fear of her daughter escaping her abusive control but because she genuinely loves her daughter and doesn't want her to go through what Demeter did; if Hades is holding her captive, it's not because he's a cruel man who just wants to rape her every night). I'm up for pretty much any retelling of this story; I particularly love ones where there's a subtle (or NOT at ALL subtle) horror element to it, where the Underworld is a strange and not-entirely-comforting place full of old secrets and ancient Gods - how does Persephone deal with it, and a strange new husband hundreds if not thousands of years older than she is? Especially given how he's been in the underworld since, presumably, before she was born? Can they even communicate with one another? What's the difference between being (or being with) a death god and a living one?

As far as smut: Given that they’re from two different generations of Gods, are there certain things that don’t quite…translate, sexually? Do they have entirely different ideas of what sex even is? How does she handle a husband who is so many years older than her - is he more experienced in this arena? Or given that he's been in the underworld with mostly nothing but ghosts and long-held-captive family members for eons, is she the one who needs to offer more of a guiding hand to an older virgin, here? What sort of consequences are there for sex between Gods? What does breeding with a Death god even look like, anyway?

Aphrodite/Helen: Poor Helen really gets pulled around by Aphrodite. First, she gets kidnapped by Theseus when he’s quite old to be his bride (and she is just a child at the time!). Then, after he disappears in the underworld (!), she gets married off to Menelaus of Sparta, and then — and only then — does she get absconded to Troy, all because Paris judged a contest that Aphrodite won, and Aphrodite decided to give him the hottest possible woman on Earth. No consideration at all was ever paid as to whether the hottest girl on earth was willing. No one has had people fall in love with her as often as Helen, and had literally world-shaking developments happen because other people found her beautiful. How does she feel about that? Does she pray to Aphrodite? What sort of relationship does Aphrodite have to her? Would she see Helen as a threat she'd have to grind under her heel, or her most beautiful follower? Their relationship in the Iliad seems...tense, and I'd love to see how or what any other personal interaction between them might go besides being overflowing with UST.

As far as smut, I'd love to see something about Aphrodite's powers of ...persuasion in the bedroom - what's it like to be on the receiving end of that, for a mortal? I'd love to see something where Helen is absolutely not prepared for what, exactly, Aphrodite can do - and that perhaps Aphrodite's power over love is entirely and cruelly all-encompassing. Can she change her form? What sort of things might her touch do to a mortal body? And what would Aphrodite see in Helen? Would she see this beautiful woman as a tribute to her powers -- or as a threat? Why might she hold such an interest in her -- and would she be able to let her go?

Dishonored

Daud and Billie roam the streets.

I always felt like Daud and Billie were always each other's uneasy exception to the don't-get-attached rule. The relationship between them feels surprisingly supportive and kind for two assassins, especially given that Daud was training her to take over for him if he began to show signs of weakness (and she tried! I love that she tries to kill him!). They both tell themselves that they're not the sorts who really prize sentimentality, and yet there's such compassion between them, such soft feelings even KNOWING its wrong (according to their own worldviews) -- they spend so long seeking one another out! They are so supportive of one another during Death of the Outsider! I'd love to see something where they confront those feelings prior to the end of Death of the Outsider. They both know time is running short, and there's so much to do to take down a god and so little time.

As far as smut, I'd love to see both of them being the exact opposites of what they are on the field: for as deadly as they are dealing death, perhaps neither is very used to dealing in love. Is either bothered by the age difference? How do they handle physical touching? Is it a fumbling, awkward tumble in the hay? Do they get better at it, or are they always struggling with the mechanics of what feels like an unusually intimate act that neither is entirely comfortable with?
