Hadestown - Mitchell
Hades/Persephone (Hadestown): I absolutely adore these two together and would love to see more snippets of them being messy as hell and trying to be better to one another. I'd love to see some snippets of their relationship through time, especially Hades and Persephone interacting in different historical settings from canon: the American civil war? Bubonic Plague? The 1933 Times Fair? I feel like the perspective they have from being immortal + their deeply human instinct to snipe, drink, say the wrong thing, etc. would be fascinating. I also love the idea of them having children, either pre or post canon, and always want to see snippets of them as parents (or informing the other they're going to be a parent).
Hermes & Persephone (Hadestown): These two are such great buds and I just adore them having adventures together. I feel like Hermes is always there for her, and she loves to go out for a good time with him. I would love to see some of their adventures - what do they get up to, up above during the summertime? Is it a coincidence they both seem to own/work at a bar, and if not, does Hermes help Persephone set hers up or vice versa? How does Hades (or Orpheus) react to their friendship?
Eurydice/Persephone (Hadestown): I really love Eurydice and I feel like she and Persephone both have the unenviable task of being women who bit off a lot more than they could chew at points and wound up in unexpected troubles due to it. In a world where Orpheus looks back and Hades doesn't change, I can see them both increasingly unhappy with their male lovers, and willing to find solace with one another, and I'd love to see a snippet of what their relationship looks like in this potential future. What's it like to be with a god? With a woman who may (or may not) be dead?
Eurydice/Hades (Hadestown): Hades and Eurydice are so similar to me in terms of their personalities: they both are very focused on the financial pressures of live, both seeking surer things, but both fall in love with dreamers. It's easy for me to see them getting along, and I love the messiness of a long-term affair between Hades and Eurydice, especially when Persephone is out of town. What would they do? Would either of them feel bad about it? What does Eurydice get out of it? What are their feelings about Orpheus/Persephone?
Eurydice/Hades/Persephone (Hadestown): I really, really love the idea of these three as a triad, but there are SO MANY ISSUES to unpack here and I'd love to see a snippet of how this works -- or doesn't work. Hades can have Eurydice with him year-round, but does that comfort Persephone or irritate her? Does Persephone enjoy suddenly having Eurydice around? Does Hades find a way to be emotionally available for both women, instead of just one? Is Eurydice just there to basically be their third in bed, or is she an equal part of the triad? How strange is it to live with gods for a mortal -- or vice versa? What do they get up to in bed?
Hades (Video Game 2018)
Hades/Persephone: I really love the quiet hints of the love story we get between these two in Hades. It's clear to see that they both came from pretty profoundly damaged backgrounds and found comfort in that in one another, and I love how they clearly love one another but it also, at points, is not quite enough. I like how Persephone pushes him past some of his naturally cruel inclinations, and how protective he is of her. I would love to see more of their early courtship: How on earth did Zeus hatch this scheme? Was Persephone okay with it? How did Hades get past his annoyance about Zeus having this scheme -- and it actually working? I'd love all the sadness about her decision to leave after Zagreus' first death, and Hades' reaction to it. I'd love to see anything about them getting back together later in life -- not nearly as young or idyllic as they once were, but still wanting to give it a try. And honestly, I'm also here for the size kink too so smutty hints of their life together would also be lovely. (Especially as this is a BIG size difference! Surely Persephone must need SO MANY pillows!)
Demeter & Zagreus: I really love this game's version of Demeter. She's scary in the best way, hella intimidating, and it’s easy to see where she and Persephone had problems in their relationship (and Demeter was, at points, pretty cruel to her). But that Demeter is allowed to change and to realize her mistakes, that she goes through this intense mourning and comes out with a surprisingly cute relationship with her (unknown) grandson...I want all the bonding stories between them. Demeter making Zagreus sweaters for the chill? Demeter meeting him in person and being surprised at his shortness? Zagreus doing something kind for Grandma? Grandma coming to visit? I'd just love more bonding for them.
Demeter & Persephone: Oh boy, this is a complicated mother/daughter relationship and I am right here for it. I love how that, like with Hades and Zagreus, the game never really excuses Demeter's cruelty to Persephone (and oh man, the line she has where she fears she was "not too nice" to Persephone really makes my hair raise), but does off them a chance to move past it, if with difficulty. I would love to see some snippets of their life, pre-Persephone "kidnapping": how did Persephone and her mom get along? What is it like having an immortal mother when you're half-mortal yourself? What happened after her father died? Since Persephone didn't go back to her mom after things ended with Hades, how do they ever talk about what happened with Zag? How do Persephone and her mom bond, after the game ends?
Hades & Persephone & Zagreus: I really am soft to these three as a family, and it’s interesting to me that they are trying to become so after so many years of being separated from one another. Hades has certainly caused Zag no end of damage, and I don't want to see that erased, but I prefer a Hades who is trying to reform, even if things are still rocky. I feel like Persephone is really the wildcard here and neither of the men knows her quite so well. Hades is...well, Hades' emotional issues are no less severe than Zag's or Seph's. In short, all three of them have a lot of problems. But I'd love to see some family bonding between the three of them: what sort of activities do you do, in the underworld, with your adult son, when you're trying to make an effort to have family bonding? Who gets invited? How does it go?
Demeter & Hades: I find their relationship really interesting because they both are abusive and abrasive at points; however, I think Hades knows how Demeter treated Persephone and considering how petty he can be about grudges, it’s really hard for me to imagine that this wouldn't be a tricky relationship to try to unpack. Yet, I can see a sympathy between them: they both have difficulties relating to their children, they both are really struggling as parents, and they both know what it’s like to mourn a child. I would love to see just some small nugget of these two interacting; what does that look like? What are they doing? Does it go well or poorly? How do Zagreus and/or Persephone enter into it, if at all?
Nyx/Persephone: I really love Zag's two moms. (For this prompt, I'd prefer either an AU where Hades/Persephone never happened or one where Hades just accepts that Persephone is poly. If you want to include him as part of a triad, feel free; otherwise I would prefer he not be a focus.) I really want them to be happy together, they go through so much! Any bit of fluff post-Seph's return would be absolutely lovely, especially as we don't really get to see Nyx's reaction to Zagreus bringing her "home." I would also love to see some pining/sneaking around during the time where Persephone is on the surface living by herself: did Nyx ever sneak up to check on her, make sure she was doing okay? Did Persephone ever try to go back towards the underworld to meet up with her? Did they smuggle letters through Hermes or Charon (or someone else)? What is Zagreus' reaction to his two moms being in a romantic relationship with one another?
Nyx & Zagreus: Nyx's relationship with Zag is So Wholesome, So Pure, So Wonderful to me. I love how Nyx goes out of her way to ensure that Zagreus has a wonderful childhood -- or as wonderful as it can be with Hades as a father. She really is responsible IMO for so much in how Zagreus has grown up to be a very good boy and its clear he loves her very much. I would love to see some adventures as Zagreus is growing up or a snippet of how their relationship slowly adjusts as Zagreus comes to realize she isn't his birth mother but is still very much his mother.
Hypnos & Nyx & Thanatos: I really am curious what their family life is like! We never get to see a lot of them interacting together, and Than and Hypnos are so very different in their temperament that I imagine it might have been a bit of a struggle for Nyx, especially with Zagreus added to the fold with the twins. What was their family life like as they grew up? How does Nyx handle her sons now? Does she ever have regrets in how they've grown up, or is she proud of them? How does she encourage them? Do they ever do anything particularly nice for their mom? I'd really love to see any snippet of their family life.
Lore Olympus (Webcomic)
Note: For Lore Olympus, I have no preference in how you handle characters who are attached being in relationships with other characters. Whether assumed poly, cheating, or just the other relationship never happened - all good!
Hades/Minthe: Listen, I love a good unhealthy couple dynamic and hooobooy, do these two have it. I know the comic can be uneven in how it presents them: I feel like it tends to vilify Minthe quite a bit, but ignores the fact that Hades has total financial control over her. I'd really love to see a snippet of these two and how their relationship worked, especially given the family/friend social pressure on them. Does Minthe ever accompany Hades to those family parties, and if so, how does that go? How does she feel about Hades paying for her apartment and her paycheck and basically everything else? After Minthe is turned into a plant, does Hades try to care for her, and if so, how?
Hades/Hera: Like with Minthe, I find the dynamic between Hades and Hera really interesting. This is 100% one where I want to hear about their affair: what brought them together? Did Hera ever consider leaving Zeus for Hades, or did they always know it was just a coping thing? Were they ever caught? And if so, by who? Do bond over their shared scars by Chronos? And if so, what might that look like?
Hecate/Minthe: I really love Minthe and I really love Hecate and I feel like they would vibe well together! Both are very focused and I feel like Hekate is more understanding/supportive of building barriers in relationships than Hades is and would have given Minthe more space than Hades does. I feel like Minthe in turn would be into someone who keeps her on her toes more, but still gives her security. How would they get together? Pre-Hades? Post-Hades? As a plant? Does Hecate manage to transform Minthe back from being a plant? Does Hekate help settle Minthe down after she strikes Hades? How does she go from being somewhat antagonistic towards Minthe towards being a friend to her?
Hades/Minthe/Persephone: Okay, I love a good messed up relationship and I can see Minthe proposing this sort of threesome to keep Hades once Hades starts having his office flirtations with Persephone. I'd love to see how screwed up this can be on all fronts: Hades can barely date one person, let alone two with his issues. Minthe is desperate to keep the man and feels it’s a competition. And Persephone has never had a relationship that's healthy (or, really, any relationship before), so she's totally out of her depth here. I just want to see a snippet of what this would have looked like, whether happy, sad, or smutty.
Hades/Hera/Minthe: Similar to the prompt above, I really love the idea of Hades just having these absolutely screwed up relationships with the women in his life. He clearly prefers bossy women and Minthe and Hera are both pretty confident, and I feel like he would be totally in over his head if either of these two proposed a threesome. I don't think he could say no to it because he clearly cares for both of them very much. Do Hera and Minthe like each other? Is this V-shaped polygamy (if perhaps unhealthily) or is this a threesome proper? How does Hera feel about incorporating Minthe into her life, especially if she's with/cheating on Zeus?
Hercules (1997)
Hades/Megara: I really have a soft spot for these two together. I feel like they both have this very bleak view on society because they've been betrayed by it before, and yet they both clearly long for being accepted by the very same sort of relationship that they have been rejected from before (with Hades, it’s with his family/the other gods; with Meg, it's clearly with a lover). I find them really companionable and I feel like there's a good alternate version of Hercules where Megara winds up with the God instead of with the man. I'd love to see a snip of what it looks like if she never got with Herc; what's her life like? What's it like being a mortal with a god? And how does Hades feel about her, especially given that she's kinda-sorta his employee as well? How snarky are they at social events?
A Discovery of Witches (TV)
Gerbert of Aurillac & Juliette Durand: I really like their super unhealthy dynamic and I feel like the TV show did SO MUCH in making Juliette a better, less pathetic character from the books. I'd really love to see any of Juliette's training, or any of the time between when she left Matthew and went back to Gerbert, or any of their little schemes, or just them going to church (because I am eternally fascinated about Gerbert being a vampire + a pope, and going to church, even hundreds of thousands of years later). What is their life together like? Why did Gerbert keep Juliette so long? How did he feel after she went towards Matthew and wound up getting killed by Diana?
Domenico Michele/Juliette Durand: I really love the one scene in Season 1 where Domenico really excellently manipulates Juliette in the bar in Season 1. She's aware of his intentions, but she falls for it anyway, because he knows her weak spot is Matthew. I would love to see a prequel to the two little scenes we get of Domenico with Juliette, to see how their relationship develops. It feels like there is a history there, and I'm really curious what it is, especially given how long they have lived in Italy/Venice together.
Domenico Michele/Gerbert of Aurillac/Juliette Durand: I really love the power-play between Domenico and Gerbert; you can tell that Domenico accepts that Gerbert is more powerful than him but doesn't like that the French vampire has moved in on his territory in Venice. Gerbert is the powerful one, but he doesn't like that Domenico moves a lot more among the people and clearly its easier for Domenico to move fluidly in the Vampire world because he is both more careful and doesn't have the history that Gerbert has. And poor Juliette has NO power, but she is certainly clever, and I think cleverer than Gerbert or Domenico really give her much credit for. I know it wouldn't be particularly healthy, but I am here for just how unhealthy it would be. Would a threesome between these three work? Who would win? Who would lose? Would there be any emotions at all, or would this purely be for political gain?
Juliette Durand & Ysabeau de Clermont: I feel so bad for Juliette and I feel like so much of her fate was sealed when Gerbert selected her to mold her into a weapon for his own desires. I would really love to see a snippet of an AU where Ysabeau is the one who rescues Juliette from Cairo, not Gerbert -- or, alternately, perhaps Ysabeau and Juliette meeting at any point along the way. (It seems unlikely to me that they did not; after all, Juliette was one Matthew's lover, so it seems likely she would have met his mother.) How did Juliette feel meeting her? How did Ysabeau feel? Was she what Juliette expected after being "prepped" by Gerbert? Does she come to see the world could have been different if she hadn't been broken by Gerbert, meeting the kindness of Ysabeau? Or is Ysabeau colder to her, suspicious of her motives, and such serves only to harden Juliette on the path she has already taken?
Ancient Greek Religion & Lore
Note: For Ancient Greek Religion & Lore, I have no preference in how you handle characters who are attached being in relationships with other characters. Whether assumed poly, cheating, or just the other relationship never happened - all good!
Cassandra/Persephone: Oh, whoever came up with this pairing really is firing on a genius brain setting. I would love to see this. I feel like these two have a lot in common: they're both women who were basically "cursed" by the gods to have fates they never planned for, all because someone more powerful than they were desired their beauty. I feel like Persephone would have a ton of sympathy for Cassandra, a woman done wrong in so many ways in her short life. And I feel like Cassandra would understand Persephone's fate and her mourning of what might have been hers better than most of the gods or humans, who would not find being married to a king, perhaps, so terrible a fate. How would they meet? Would it be while Cassandra was alive, or after her death? How do they come together? Does Hades find out about it and if so what is his reaction? Does Persephone punish Agamemnon more for how he has treated Cassandra?
Eurydice wife of Orpheus/Persephone: There's a couple pieces of art that have Eurydice looking suggestively at Persephone as Orpheus leads her away -- I'm thinking specifically of Orpheus and Eurydice by Rubens or Orpheus and Eurydice by Jean Raoux where they both feature Eurydice looking at Persephone with this absolutely homo-erotic longing. I want to know what happened in those universes (or another alternate) -- how did Persephone and Eurydice seem to fall into love with one another? Does this happen before Orpheus comes back? If so, does Orpheus' return have an impact on their relationship? Does Hades know about it, or do they have to sneak past him (or is Persephone half a year in the underworld without being married to him in this version)? What is it like exploring the concept of being dead as a nymph -- a creature which, seemingly short of snake-bite, seems to live as long as their tree/plant does? How does Persephone feel about a nymph, something so close to her spring-time powers over plant life, being bound in the underworld?
