Chocolate Box 2019

Dearest Chocolatier,Thank you for writing for me! I am looking forward to seeing whatever you create!

I consider all prompts as optional, but I added some ideas below in case you might find them helpful. Some are longer than others, but all are things I would love to receive! If none of my prompts work for you or you’d rather just work with a likes list, please feel free to use my general likes as something you can base your fic/art on, and ignore my prompts entirely.

In fact, feel free to just write something based on what you want as long as it doesn’t cross my DNW. I love everything from G-rated gen fic to E-rated full on smut-bangs, so feel free not to hold back on my account. If you are wondering if you can twist prompts/take them in different directions/etc. the answer is always an enthusiastic yes. Whether it be something sad, scary, fun, or just plain weird, as long as it avoids my DNW I am always down to play.

Prompts:

Hadestown

Hades and Persephone dancing.

Hades/Persephone:Hades & Persephone are my favorites in this musical and I'm in love with their complicated relationship. I love how complicated their relationship is: They clearly love one another, but Hades resents her for leaving for six months out of every 12 and she resents just how controlling he can become. I'd love to see something post-Eurydice/Orpheus, where they're still trying to make it work, even if they're not always on the same page. I'd love to see ways they try to fall back in love, as well as any speed bumps on the way, just as long as they still remain committed to one another.

I'd also love any examination of how Persephone feels about Hades' penchant for dog-eat-dog capitalism; it's clear that she tends to prefer Orpheus' communal/communist approach when she's up top, but by the time she's down below she's hawking little reminders of life above to everyone else. Which is the natural Persephone? Does Hades corrupt her, or is she simply someone who contains multitudes and if so, how does she rectify these parts of herself? Which part(s) does he love?

Smut: Look, Gods have to have really, really strange sex lives; have fun with it! Do they transform into different things? Do they have some kinds of kinks that would be completely undesirable/impossible for humankind? What kind of connection does sex bring to two beings who are deathless? Also, the first-time fic for this pairing is something I'd endlessly be interested in; Persephone's account of it seems interesting in Chant II and any take on it seems like it would be lots of fun to read!

Hades/Persephone & Hermes: Hermes strikes me as a bit of a cheerleader for Hades & Persephone's relationship: he's quick to try to tempt Persephone to defend Hades by taunting that Orpheus is "talking about her man"; in the London re-writes, he encourages Orpheus to write the song about their relationship, and he puts the mic directly in the middle of "How Long," encouraging them to come to it. How did Hermes become their cheerleader? Especially since this seems to be totally opposite to how mythological Hermes, who came to free Persephone from Hades?

Smut: There seems like absolutely zero chance Hermes hasn't caught them in the act at least once given how often he is going between the upper world and the lower one. How do they all get past that uh...awkwardness?

Hermes & Persephone: Similar to the above, how did Hermes and Persephone get to be such good friends? Hermes and Persephone in myth are in the same age group, but here Hermes appears to be quite a bit older than her. How come Hermes is the one taking her up and down? How do they get along? How does Hermes ability to go in/out of the underworld at will impact their relationship?

Hermes & Hades: Hermes is clearly working with Hades as a psychopomp, collecting Eurydice's coin and escorting Persephone back and forth. How did these two go into business together? How close are they? How does Hermes feel about the Underworld? Does he have anything to do with Hades' workers? Does he ever try to help Hades with his relationship with Persephone?

Eurydice & Persephone: Persephone seems to take Eurydice under her wing during act II and seems to feel very tenderly toward the girl. I would love to see something set post-musical, where Persephone helps Eurydice come to terms with the underworld. Whether this is comforting or bleak doesn't matter to me; either way, they're stuck there, and I'd love to see how they deal with it.

Greek and Roman Mythology

I love the poutiness of her expression; Helen of Troy by Frederick Sandys.

Note for this fandom: Obviously, we don't really know what any of these characters look like, and I'm all for different interpretations, up to and including culture swaps, gender swaps, trans characters, etc. Go nuts with interpretations! I am here for whatever pictures you paint. :)

Hades/Persephone: Their story has changed so much through the centuries and it absolutely blows my mind, the many ways that this story can be twisted: Persephone as his unwilling captive or his willing wife; Demeter the helicopter parent or Demeter, the mother cruelly separated from her child; Hades as abductor or broody lover. I love pretty much every version of this myth, but I’d like to see Hades and Persephone come to some sort of accord, rather than eternally hating and resenting one another. I'm up for pretty much any retelling of this story; I particularly love ones where there's a subtle (or NOT at ALL subtle) horror element to it, where the Underworld is a strange and not-entirely-comforting place full of old secrets and ancient Gods - how does Persephone deal with a husband hundreds if not thousands of years older than she is?

Smut: I'd just love to see what sex is like, among Gods, especially chthonic ones. I feel like it could go in weird places, given that they can change their form however they like, and their relationship has gone on so long – over 2,000 years since it was first written down at this point! How do such old gods maintain such intimacy? Do they have certain sex rituals they have to fulfill? Given that they’re from two different generations of Gods, are there certain things that don’t quite…translate? How do you keep the “spice” in the relationship when you have known that person since time began?

Hades/Persephone & Demeter: I love how in many changing stories, the role of Demeter is ever-changing. I’d love to see something about how Demeter feels about the marriage of Hades and Persephone, several (or dozens, or hundreds, or thousands) of years down the line, and how she copes with this seemingly eternal custody arrangement. How does she feel about her daughter’s abduction after all these years? I’d prefer a complicated scenario where no one is 100% the obvious bad person, but all of them have their faults and their merits as to how things have gone. How has it affected her relationship with her brother? With her daughter?

Smut: Demeter is a fertility goddess, which is fine, except that it means she knows when her daughter is fertile...and when, exactly, her brother and daughter are coupling. Does she bless the union or withhold such blessings? Is either of them aware of the role she plays?

Demeter & Persephone: Similar to the above, I'd love to see something dealing with how Demeter handles her daughter's leaving for half a year. Has Persephone changed, now that she's become something between life and death? Is this something that her mother notices? If so, does it impact how she feels about her daughter? Does Persephone still live with her mother, even after all these years, or do they spend time in different places in the mortal realm? How does Persephone feel about her mother? Persephone's feelings get short shift in the Homeric hymn to Demeter, so I'm always curious how she might feel about the resolution that gets set for her.

Helen & Aphrodite: Poor Helen really gets pulled around by the gods. First she gets kidnapped by Theseus when he’s quite old and she is just a child, then after he disappears in the underworld (!), she gets married off to Menelaus of Sparta, and then — and only then — does she get absconded to Troy, all because Paris judged a contest that Aphrodite won, and Aphrodite decided to give him the hottest possible woman on Earth — no consideration at all was ever paid as to whether the hottest girl on earth was willing. No one has had people fall in love with her as often as Helen, and had literally world-shaking developments happen because other people found her beautiful. How does she feel about that? Does she pray to Aphrodite? What sort of relationship does Aphrodite have to her?

Helen & Clytemnestra: I feel like Helen and Clytemnestra are an interesting duo; technically sisters-in-law, but with husbands who are somewhat cold to them despite their status as beautiful, high-born women. How do they get along, either before shit-goes-down or post-Troy, where Helen’s role as a faithless wife is well known and Clytemnestra is known to be a murderer? If set pre-Troy, are they friends who find comfort in one another, or bitter rivals scheming against one another? If set post-Troy, do they ever find one another in the afterlife? What do the shades of Clytemnestra and Helen have to say, at the long end of their short and frequently unhappy lives?

Hector & Priam: I feel bad for Hector and Priam; they never asked for Helen to cross their door, but surely they knew, even if Paris did not, that taking her home meant Sparta and the other Greek city-states would soon be coming for war. How did they handle this? It’s remarkable to me that both are so kind and so sweet to Helen in the Iliad, Priam going so far as to call her daughter! How does Priam handle the rivalries between his many children? How does he deal with Hector’s death, after getting his body back from the Greeks? How does he make his peace with the end of the Trojan empire coming at his hands, either in the last brief moments of life before he’s slain, or in the underworld? Does he have regrets about what he imagines his son might have become, as King?

Hestia & Prometheus: I feel like these two are somewhat overlooked, and that interesting stories could be told there. Prometheus got the fire to give to humans from somewhere - why not Hestia? How does she feel about his fate?

Assasin's Creed

Odessa gives Cassandra a tongue-lashing.

Kassandra/Odessa (Assassin's Creed): I really would love to see more of Kassandra and Odessa, especially if Kassandra takes the path that Odessa is not a delicate flower in need of protecting, but rather as wily and industrious (and, perhaps at times, as blood-thirsty) as her namesake ancestor, Odysseus. What sort of schemes could they get into together? I like the idea of them both being kind of morally grey and clever and managing to go on great adventures outwitting all kinds of mythological monsters and men (and/or even Gods perhaps!).

Smut: Since Kassandra and Odessa both have immortal blood within their veins, albeit distantly (for Kassandra through Leonidas [from Hercules->Zeus] and for Odessa, through Odysseus [through Arcesius-> either through Zeus or Hermes]), I would love to see something about what kind of divine blood would do for them in the bedroom. Is there some sort of emotional or mental link that they can have to one another? And what might their clever tongues do in the bedroom – either in wordy wordplay or in, ahem, more direct applications?

Elpenor/Kassandra: I really love how Elpenor takes absolutely no shit from Kassandra and it drives her batty. I’d love to see some hatesex between them, or perhaps a what-if if Kassandra had gone a different path and actually joined Elpenor’s cult rather than turn against it. How would Kassandra feel, knowing she was betraying her entire family for wealth and power? Would Elpenor care about her distress at all, or get off on the power he had over her? Do either of them really believe in the cult?

Smut: Ritualistic cult sex! Or maybe male-dom sex where Elpenor is as direct in bed as he is in giving her orders as a merc? Or a role reversal, where Kassandra is the dom in bed and Elpenor all too willing to give worship to this goddess misthios?

Kassandra & Nikolaos: The relationship between these two is so rough and so complex and I was kind of unsatisfied at how the game leaves things off between them. I would love to see something between them; does Nikolaos ever support his step-daughter? Does Kassandra ever come to view him as a father, or as a friend? I just want two messed up people who fucked up bad trying hard to make a family relationship work, but not quite finding the way easy to do so.

Kassandra/Stentor (Assassin's Creed): I love Stentor, who is so very Spartan and so very much clearly an idealized son for Nikolaos. I love how a Spartan-friendly Kass is very broTP with him until, of course, things go down with their father. I was disappointed we didn’t get a direct confrontation right after the dad-confrontation, and I’d love to see something where Stentor comforts her after Nikolaos storms off if you choose to save him. I really think these two are both messed up by their backgrounds and could bond over it, and maybe part of the healthy Spartan lifestyle is working out and maybe kinda sorta making out with your adopted dad’s bio-daughter in the dirt? I kind of like the sort of pseudo-incest vibe here and won’t complain at all if that’s leaned into to; I don't care much if it’s leaned away from, either. I just want to see these two get together/enjoy a brief moment together.

Smut: Stentor and Kassandra take part in a ritual that promises the blessings of Ares before the battle with the Athenians, with Stentor taking the part of Ares and Kassandra, Aphrodite perhaps? Or a quickie in the command tent? Or perhaps Kassandra takes a different tact to try to sneak in to see Nikolaos, by seducing Stentor?

Circe - Madeline Miller

Circe lounging about at home, as one does; Circe by Wright Barker.
Circe & Aeëtes: I’m really fascinated by them; they’re so close as children but by the time Circe is isolated on her island, Aeëtes is no better than any other Gods: I love the bit where his daughter Medea (who is so clearly cut of the same bolt of cloth) comes to Aiaia, and Circe doesn’t believe her about Aeëtes experiments, until she sees proof of it when he comes to her island. I would love to have something set past that, where Aeëtes comes once again after Circe’s power, and Circe had to confront him again. What would Aeetes think of Circe getting the poison from Trygon’s spear? Or banning Gods who weren’t death Gods from visiting her? Or her final choice in the novel?

Pasiphaë & Circe: Pasiphaë and Circe’s relationship is thorny from the start, and never really gets easier. I love Pasiphaë with her shamelessness. She gets the happier ending at first glance: the powerful husband, the beautiful, dutiful daughters, the most talented inventor at her back and call. And yet when Circe sees her sister again, we see all the cracks in the window dressing: she hates her husband and terrorizes his mistresses, a daughter is doomed to the meddling of the Gods, and her inventor longs for nothing but to flee his prison. Pasiphaë seems deeply unhappy and I’d love to see something of where they get to meet again after Pasiphaë and her grandson are overthrown. What would have happened if she had gone to Circe’s island, instead of back to the halls of her family? With her banishment over, would Circe ever go see her again?

Circe/Daedalus: I loved the quiet moments of these two together; there’s such a tender love there, a glimmer of kind meeting kind, but being Circe and Daedalus, they are as star-crossed as ever; first they lose one another, then what each holds most dear. I would love to see something set post-canon where they get to comfort one another over the loss of Icarus, over Telegonus: perhaps they can meet again, either in Circe visiting the island she directs Odysseus to meet the shades, or, if you choose to believe her drinking Kronos’ Blood-flower is a suicide (a wish for mortality), what would they find of being reunited in the underworld? The view Circe paints of it (“dusky hills and gray meadows, the shades moving slow and white among them. Some walked hand in hand with those they had loved in life…”) seems downright sunny for a place which all feared to tread, and makes me wonder if she wishes to walk that path with him had she but had the chance.

Smut: I’d just like to see more stolen moments for them; stolen kisses, rushed love-making even knowing that they’re soon to be parted. Or, of course, a tour of some of Daedalus’ other, smuttier inventions. Or perhaps what might have happened if she had perhaps decided to have a child with him, rather than Odysseus?

Circe & Helios: Their confrontation at the end of the book gave me so much life. I would love to see more of Circe and Helios; Helios’ thoughts on her, perhaps? He calls her the worst of his children, but she’s the only one who ever quite breaks away from his sway. She’s independent in ways he resents but she’s also powerful in ways he might one day have wanted to lay claim to – what would happen if Helios tried to get her involved in the Titan rebellion he wanted so badly?

Circe/Prometheus: I know they only have one interaction together when Circe is a child, but I cannot help but think these two are quite alike souls. They’re both rebels against the Gods in their own way, each interfering to help the mortals. When she’s making amends at the end of the book, I was hoping to see something of Prometheus beyond the confrontation with her father: what would have happened had Circe sought Prometheus’ freedom? Would she have gone to Zeus, told him of that Titan rebellion and/or offered him Trygon’s spear? Summoned Hades/Persephone/Campe and tried to bargain for Prometheus’ soul if he is in Tartarus? Gone to the Caucasus Mountains and freed him herself if he’s there? And how would Prometheus react to this freedom? How would he show his “thankfulness” to this witch-Goddess who freed him? Or if you want to go for the myth of Hercules freeing him, he perhaps finds himself on Aiaia, falling in love with the local witch, who herself is bound in place?

Smut: Look, Gods can have really, really strange sex lives and I’m here for that ride; have fun with it! I’d love to see what two titans might get up to when they are alone. Do they have some kinds of kinks that would be completely undesirable/impossible for humankind? What kind of connection does sex bring to two beings who are deathless? Being Titans, are there things that they can/would do that Olympians or mortals could not? Given that they come from different generations, are there things that don’t quite translate between them?

Crossover Fandom

Kassandra dressed up all Amazonian-like.
Diana (Wonder Woman) & Hades & Persephone (Greek Mythology): I would love to see Diana get to interact with her uncle and aunt! What she’s down there for is up to you – maybe she is going to rescue Steve from the shades? Maybe she’s bringing down a dangerous threat herself to make sure they don’t escape (Ares)? Maybe she is just there to try to chat with family, as there aren’t a lot of immortals out there? Or perhaps to visit friends long-gone? I always am up for any and all underworld stories and I’d love to see another take, especially since there have been some good (and really weird) ones in Wonder Woman comics canon.

Diana (Wonder Woman)/Kassandra (Assassin's Creed): I am a simple woman, and I just want two hot, kinda immortal amazons fighting and making out back to back over the centuries. Do they ever travel together? Does Amazon recognize Amazon, even in times so far from their own? How do they get together? What sort of adventures might they have?

Smut: Look, I think we all need two hot Amazonian woman play-fighting that leads to rough make-outs that leads to rough sex. Or basically anything, here: I am a simple creature who is weak in the knees for buff ladies getting it on together.

Kassandra (Assassin's Creed)/Athena (Greek Mythology): Because Athena is a goddess of war, and loves those who are crafty, and none is craftier nor wiser in AC: Oddessy than Kassandra. I can easily see Athena taking Kassandra as her new Odysseus, and once you have a chosen one, especially one as beautiful and capable as Kassandra, well, even a Goddesses' attention can be...all-consuming. Whether Athena is ace and remains a virgin but has romantic feelings for Kassandra or Athena decides maybe she is willing to drop the virgin pledge is up to you; either way, I just want these two interacting together.

Smut: If not going the "Athena's ace" or otherwise foresworn from sex route, I would love to see how their first time might happen. Does Kassandra initiate? Athena? What is it like making love to a goddess?

Kassandra (Assassin's Creed)/Ares (Greek Mythology):Similar to Athena, I want Aries and Kass to get together because, well, she’s a Spartan and he’s the god of war, and she’s really good at killing stuff. How does the God of War reveal himself to her? Is she honored by his attention, or a bit frightened? Despite the fact that she’s mortal, she’s also kind of functionally immortal for a long time, so how does that change the relationship between God and woman?

Smut: Aries is the God of war, so does he have any tenderness in the bedroom? How does Kassandra deal with having a God? Is he…different from a human in any meaningful way? Do they have rough and angry sex, or is their coupling a more gentle thing?

Kassandra (Assassin's Creed) & Hades & Persephone (Greek Mythology): I feel like the underworld isn’t explored much in Odyssey (at least where I am in the game) and I’m always interested in seeing another interpretation of it, especially given the complicated mythology the Assasin’s Creed series already has. Maybe Kass stumbles into it without realizing it? Or does she go there when, at long last, her journey is at her end? How does she react to the underworld and its rulers?

Kassandra (Assassin's Creed) & Artemis (Greek Mythology): Because Kassandra becomes part of a group that honors Artemis, I can’t help but wonder what she would think if she ever got to meet the goddess of hte hunt herself. I feel like Kassandra and Artemis would get along well given their similar interests: perhaps they go hunting together? Would Artemis help protect Kass on her journeys? How might Kass react to literally seeing a goddess?

Kassandra (Assasin's Creed) & Helen of Troy (Greek Mythology): I know that it’s impossible for them both to be alive at the same time, but as two Spartan children taken from their homes, I feel like these would reach an accord quickly with one another. Perhaps Kassandra finds herself back in time somehow, and meets the mythical Helen? Or perhaps Kassandra summons her for advice, similar to how Odysseus summons shades in the Odyssey?
