Black Emporium 2018 letter

Dearest Black Warden,

Thank you for writing for me!  I am sure whatever you make for me, I will love it dearly and I am so excited to see it already! I tend to write long letters because -- well, let's be real, I can talk just about anyone's head off. Some prompts may be longer than others, but I assure you, it is merely because some of them I have trouble dictating anything more than "YES THIS PLZ". I am just as happy getting a small slice of a longer AU as I am a massive epic of mythic proportions, so please don't feel you have to go out of your way to make something large to fit a prompt.  Thank you for writing/drawing for me!  Please feel free to use my general likes as something you can base your fic/art on, and ignore my prompts entirely if they're not doing it for you. I love everything from G-rated gen fic to E-rated full on smut-bangs, so feel free not to hold back on my account. My DNW are few. If you are wondering if you can twist prompts/take them in different directions/etc. the answer is always yes. Whether it be something sad, scary, fun, or just plain weird, as long as it avoids my DNW I am always down to play.

 Because this letter is so very long, I didn’t put down any specifically art prompts. But I would love artwork of a scene from any of these prompts or my general likes!

Flemeth/Merrill: I find the entire idea of this super enticing. Merrill seems to absolutely be subservient to Flemeth, and Flemeth has shown that she will push that as far as she can. There's so many rumors about her taking daughters -- what purposes might she have with those young women who find themselves in her service? Is Merrill a dupe, put into her ladies service without the full knowledge of what it means? Or does she enter into this situation with her mind open and wise to exactly what Flemeth is?

Prompt Ideas:
+ Merrill becomes a tribute to Mythal. Flemeth decides to take her as an apprentice.
+ Merrill makes a deal with a witch to learn how to save her clan/save Hawke from the fade/become a dragon/etc. Flemeth's bargain has a high cost.
+ Merrill falls under Flemeth's spell — in more ways than one.

Merrill/Morrigan: They are both mages who live under the thumb of overbearing parental figures who are convinced they know exactly what should happen with them during their lives. They're both mages with a taste for the dark and the societally unapproved. I feel like these two would get along very well, and I'd love to see how their relationship might unfold. Magic is, of course,a definite plus.

Prompt Ideas:
+ Meeting at Skyhold and discovering that they share their same passion for magic without limitations.
+ Morrigan teaches Merrill shape-shifting powers; Merrill teaching Morrigan keeper magic.
+ Merrill + Morrigan studying the Eluvians and making more than a few discoveries - not all of them magical.

Female Hawke/Merill: My Dragon Age OTP forever and ever. I love them both being cast-offs in some way; the black sheep of their families, the rejected daughters who wind up having this beautiful relationship. I have a slight preference for Hawke being a mage, and them also being both mages just to try to  have this sort of low-key love while also both being in places that are strange to them, struggling with these huge events that seem to come crashing down on their heads every few years. 

Prompt Ideas:
+ Merill teaching Hawke elvish; perhaps as a private language between them, or whispered words in bed, or perhaps during a certain elven ceremony
+ Merill and home: what’s it like sleeping in a building made of stone when you’ve spent your entire life under the stars? Does she yearn for the dalish ways, or does she prefer a feather bed? How does Hawke react to her preference?
+ I’d love to read about one of Merill’s magical spells backfiring on Hawke – what does it do? How does she help Hawke through it?

Isabela/Merrill: I'm always a sucker for the experienced + inexperienced pairing. I would love anything and everything about these two slowly stumbling from friends-with-benefits into lovers. Does Isabella know that Merrill's blood magic is playing with fire? Does she like that her kitten is so dangerous? Does Merrill sense how Isabela is so unused to intimacy, to having an attachment that matches longer than she is in any given port. And of course, any smut about ISabela introducing Merrill to the many things a woman can do is always welcome.

Prompt Ideas:
+ Isabela taking Merrill onto the high seas with her for fun and adventure; she expects Merill to find it harder than she does
+ Isabela’s thoughts on Merill’s blood magic
+ Calling Merrill kitten in bed.

Shianni/Solas: I love the idea of Solas getting to meet some of the elves that we meet in canon beyond Sera and Lavellan. And there's something about Shianni, I think, that he would admire: she's living in bad circumstances, but she has done more than anything to revolutionize the Alienage. And yet, at the same time, there's also the fact that the Alienage is so shoddy, that I think it would make Solas just bitterly angry seeing how the elves are treated and how foolish the entire world feels to him. And I'd love to see Shianni's reaction to that, or perhaps to Arlathan as a whole -- especially considering how she has been abused by humans in the past.

Prompt Ideas:
+ Shianni encounters Solas on a trip for the inquisition to Denerim. He's initially keen to dismiss her as Just Another ELf, but something she does in the Alienage reminds him of someone, long ago.
+ Shianni takes Solas to the Denerim Alienage. Solas is shocked by what he sees.
+ Shianni joins the Inquisition to help her people. Solas finds her surprisingly open-minded.

Female Laevellan/Fen'Harel/Female Mahariel/Merrill: AKA the Trickster god slowly seduces his own trio of elven heroes to help him in whatever way he pleases using his powers as an elvish god. Dub-con very much encouraged and allowed. Do they fight him at all? Do they understand what's happening?  Do they ever try to fight back or does Solas have them all under his thumb?

Prompt Ideas:
+ “Remember this always and keep it close to your heart, daughters of Arlathan: Fen'Herel always lies.”
+ When Fen'Harel’s plans succeed, Lavellan, Merrill, and Mahariel suddenly find themselves in Arlathan.
+ Fen'Harel will restore the people to their former glory – even if he has to do it himself. Fortunately, there are a few …worthy women for him to help restore his race with.

Briala/Shianni: I have a soft spot for Shianni, who is such a badass despite having a life that is so hard and so worthy of heartbreak. I think Briala would see a lot in common with this tough-as-nails woman, and I think Shianni could easily be seduced to Briala's thinking. I would love to see an exploration of how, exactly, their backgrounds differ and how this might strengthen or weaken their relationship:

Prompt Ideas:
+ Briala explores the Denerim alienage while accompanying Celene on a state visit. Shianni encounters this newcomer and the two find they have a great deal in common.
+ Briala takes Shianni to a ball in Orlais and Shianni is shocked by the amount of wasteful glitz and glamor.
+ Shianni goes to Orlais' alienage after the events of Dragon Age: Origins. There, she encounters the unseen right hand on the Empress herself.

Shianni/Skinner: Skinner absolutely isn't going to alienages every time she's in town looking for facse she'll never find, right? It's just elves need protecting, and if her weapons can find a shem mark, so much the better. When she comes to Denerim, she finds an unexpected ally in the tough-as-nails town leader, Shianni -- and finds herself dangerously close to falling in love.

Prompt Ideas:
+ Skinner goes to the Alienages every time she's in a town that has one, but it's never quite the same. Shianni commiserates.
+ Skinner introduces Shianni to Bull's chargers. Shianni pulls a particularly impressive arrow trick that charms all of them - but especially Skinner. Bull offers Shianni a place in the Chargers.
+ Shianna convinces Skinner to help her restore the Denerim Alienage. Rebuilding is more than just putting up buildings, it's about constructing a home.

Female Tabris/Loghain Mac Tir: I feel like these two come from very similar backgrounds but have wound up on very different paths - which makes it really frustrating because they simultaneously understand each other really well and absolutely not at all. I want foe-yay enemies to lovers, with blood and guts and arguments and hotter sex, kisses, and arguments than anyone can understand. 

Prompt Ideas:
+ Loghain sees a lot of himself in this scrappy thief from the rough end of Denerim, and to his surprise, finds himself attracted to her
+ Loghain and Female Tabris sparring, much to the rest of the party’s bewilderment
+ Loghain has a warrior woman fetish and can’t help from getting frisky while she’s still covered in darkspawn blood

Female Cousland/Anora Mac Tir: I love the idea of a complicated love affair between these two nobles, neither of whom are royal by blood but find their way on the throne.  How do they handle the politics of the throne? How do they resolve the question of what to do with Loghain? How do things happen?

Prompt Ideas:
+ Anora expects that the marriage between her and Cousland will only be political – but finds, to her surprise, that they have more in common than she expects.
+ Cousland and Anora go to Gwaren and/or Highever - Why do they go, and what do they find out about each other there?
+ A discussion on the finer points of mabari

Sera/Vivienne: Sera and Viv are such opposites but I think they both have this sort of Viper's Edge to them that makes them of a kind. They both have this thing with pranking those that annoy them and they're flawlessly hard in all the right ways -- so I think that, if they got more time together, they might actually start to fall in love -- or at least appreciation of one another.

Prompt Ideas:
+ Annoyances to Lovers: Sera and Vivienne verbally sparring on the battlefield until Sera helps Vivienne by pranking someone who is annoying to her (an inquisitor they don't agree with? Solas? Blackwall?).
+ Sera is angry at Viv for her status as a noble, but discovers that Viv is just as sneaky as her when she catches Viv rearranging the Inquisitor's furniture -- and decides she really likes this new side of Viv.
+ Vivienne has to admit, it's distracting how much she likes Sera -- even if the girl won't stop trying to prank her.

Belle/Vivienne: Belle and Viv are masters of the understated world of high Orlais nobility. How do they navigate it - have they worked together before? Or been on opposite sides? What, exactly, can they do for one another:

Prompt Ideas:
+ Belle falling in love with Viv - how does it happen?
+ Viv becomes the divine - how does their relationship change?
+ Vivienne and Belle flirting over fashion choices.

Qi'ra (Star Wars: Solo) / Vivienne, Jack Harkness (Whoniverse): Both of these crossovers, I would love to see just how things would change should these characters meet in the dragon age universe - or if the dragon age characters are lifted out of Thedas and into teh wider world/galaxy! 

Qi'ra/Viv:
Qi'ra winds up crash landing in Thedas and finds herself in the Orlais court. She's under the protection of Vivienne because people think she's a mage (either because advanced science is suitably close to magic or because she's a force user and thus close to a mage?) and seduces her because Qi'ra has never been in a situation where she doesn't feel a need to try to take control over. How does she deal with not being able to go home? How does Viv deal with this foreign woman who tells her fantastical tales about worlds beyond the stars?
+ Vivienne finds herself stumbling upon Qi'ra and being taken into space and into a wider world she never knew of. What happens next?
+ Qi'ra falling in love/having a crush with Vivienne as she reads through her story in a book.

Solas/Jack:
+ I would love to see Crack Taken Serious, where Jack finds himself in the Fade and encounters Solas there. Do they recognize one another in some way? Does Jack find his voice eerily familiar?
+ When Jack traveled back in time, he traveled WAY back and to another dimension to boot - and finds himself falling for an elf with a complicated past.
+ Jack is accused of being a mage. Solas rescue him because he thinks he is a mage or a demon -- but is annoyed to find that Jack is far more than that.
